About Their Film

Susanne and Michael fell in love the way some couples do, over shared meals, growing palates, and a running curiosity about what to try next. So when it came time to celebrate, there was really only one kind of venue that made sense: one built around exceptional food, shared with the people they love most. They'd already made things legal days earlier at San Francisco City Hall, surrounded by parents and siblings, a smaller, tender moment before the larger celebration to come. At Foreign Cinema, that celebration opened wide: family and friends gathered around the table, stories traded over course after course, the whole night carrying the warmth of two people who know exactly how to make a room feel fed and loved. This film moves between both moments, the quiet vow and the joyful feast, weaving together the two halves of how Susanne and Michael became a family.
